Contemplative Silent Meditation
Contemplation Sits are an act of resistance to the drivenness of our culture and the lie that our value is in our productivity.
The practice invites letting go of thoughts and sensations, and returning to a guiding sacred word. Even this simple yet challenging act can help train our bodies and brains to let go more easily throughout other moments in our days, to be present to ourselves and those around us.
It invites us to root ourselves in the Ground of all Being and extend self-compassion when we get distracted or overwhelmed.

Examen: Knowing Our Needs & Motivations
For many who are engaged in ministry and helping professions, it can feel easier to focus on the needs and characteristics of others than on oneself. We may become out of touch with who we are, our own needs, strengths, and brokenness. Without knowing it, we might be trying to meet unmet needs through our work—specifically the needs for impact, intimacy, approval, identity and self-worth. These are normal and healthy needs that can be met through unhealthy means if they drive our motive in serving others.
Workshop participants will explore their motivations for doing this work and the underlying needs they might be trying to meet.

Choosing Gratitude
“Choosing gratitude is a challenging discipline, especially in the face of much trauma and suffering.” ~Bethany Dearborn Hiser
From Burned Out to Beloved explores gratitude as a way to live in joy, even amidst sorrow. The season of Thanksgiving is painful for many who don’t have a warm place to be, friends and family to share a meal with, let alone finances to put food on the table, and for those who’ve lost loved ones. Yet, it also surfaces a toxic reality, as the celebrated feast was followed by massive genocide of Native people.
How do we choose gratitude in the midst of suffering?
Join a Soul Care Group focused on Harvesting Gratitude, in honor of the Two Year Anniversary of From Burned Out to Beloved: Soul Care for Wounded Healers; and a season of Thanksgiving.
